End September -

During the last few days in September, the rafters [spær] were delivered. Mathilde saw her room with walls for the first time. She was delighted that it was a lot bigger then she anticipated. And she also got a splinter [splint] in her finger!

 

Bricks are being delivered to the construction site. The bricklaying has started. We went through a lot of hassle to find the right bricks. Look at the materials-description to see details.

After having built half of the wall towards the garden, the bricklayers tore it down again - much to our surprise. Two steps forward, and one step back. The reason was that the bricks were of a different color compared to the rest of the house. So... a new supply of bricks was delivered the next day - and they could start over again.
